Latin American distribution specialist Salsa Ent. returns to NATPE 2003 with the exclusive Latin American distribution rights to three new animation series. Something Else (26 x 11), Ollivers Adventures (13 x 21) and Metalheads (26 x 11) will lead Salsas roster.
Based on the award-winning childrens book of the same title by Kathryn Cave and Chris Riddell, Something Else follows the adventures of two loveable misfits the long-nosed, orange and furry Something and the small, blue and furry Something Else. Though they are good friends, push their friendship to the limit with much bickering and bantering, all to the tune of an upbeat salsa tempo. This TV-Loonland and Studio B Prods. co-production for ZDF (Germany) and Family Channel (Canada) targets kids 58.
DECODE Ent.s Ollivers Adventures is digital animation series or kids 611. Plagued by his older sisters, rambunctious but sweet Olliver escapes to the privacy of his bedroom where he can take off and dream up his own wild escapades. The series is produced by Collideascope Digital Prods. in association with DECODE Ent. for TELETOON in Canada.
Metalheads, an off-the-wall comedy adventure for kids 611, is set in the Middle Ages and centers on a motley crew of five kids and their enthusiastic efforts to become knights (or Metalheads). Described as a mixture of Monty Python and A Knight’s Tale, the series is a co-production of TV-Loonland and ZDF, in conjunction with CBBC.
