The Cramp Twins, the hit animated series created by British artist Brian Wood, is coming to the U.S. with a Feb. 8 debut on Fox’s Saturday morning block, Fox Box. The BAFTA-nominated series was one of Cartoon Network Europe’s biggest hits in 2002 . It also airs on BBC.
Described as a pair of twins with nothing in common, the Cramps take sibling rivalry to a whole new level. The show pits Lucien’s low-key demeanor against brother Wayne’s bad temper and penchant for troublemaking.
The first series of 52 11-minute stories was produced by New York-based Sunbow Ent., which was bought by Germanys TV-Loonland shortly before the series was completed. A second season is currently in production at TV-Loonlands London studio, Telemagination. Brian Woods two books, The Cramp Twins and Swamp Fever, have been published by Bloomsbury in the U.K. and the U.S.
