The American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood will screen two programs of French animated shorts on Wednesday, July 16 beginning at 7:30 p.m. The 35mm prints are being presented in Association with ASIFA-Hollywood, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Animated Film Centre (Cica), in collaboration with Association of French Animated Cinema (AFCA).
Program 1., “The Menagerie” will feature Philippe Arc’s Toro de Nuit (Bulls by Night), Francois P. Guillous 1997 piece Zob de Moor, Federico Vits Guano, Isabelle Faivres Du Zero des Arenes, Guillaume Cassets La vache qui voulait sauter par-dessus léglise (The Cow Who Wanted to Jump Over the Church), Nicolas Jacquets Vermillon, la Grande Musique, Sarah Ropes Le Chat dAppartement (The House Cat), Marie-Christine Perrodins Les Adventures de Leon, on nest pas des Sauvages (The Adventures of Leon, Were not Savages), Bruce Krebs’ Zebres (Zebras), Magali Wassongs René et Gisèle and Konstantin Bronzits Au Bout du Monde (To the End of the World)
Program 2., “Familiar And Unusual Worlds” will include Arnaud Pens LAbri (The Shelter), Laurent Pouvarets Ferrailles (Scraps), Lolo Zazars Dernière Invention (The Last Invention), Jean-Luc Grecos La Bouche Cousue (The Sewn Mouth), Aline Ahonds Carnavallée, Christian Volckmans Maaz, Florence Miailhes Au Premier Dimanche Daout (On the First Sunday of August), Helene Moineries Dune Cité à Lautre (From One Town to Another), Florent Mouniers Le Bain (The Bath) and Laetitia Gabriellis LEnfant de la Haute Mer (The Child of the Open Sea).
All shorts with dialogue other than English will have subtitles.
Both programs are included for the price of one ticket. International Animated Film Society (ASIFA) members will receive a discount of $2.00 off the regular $9.00 ticket price when a valid membership card is presented at the box office or sent as a copy with a faxed order.
