OddParents Special Scores Super Ratings

While Nickelodeon’s number-two-ranked kids’ program The Fairly OddParents routinely does well in the ratings, the series pulled in its biggest audience ever on Presidents’ Day with the special The Fairly OddParents’ Big Superhero Wish.

Five million viewers tuned in on Monday, Feb. 16, to catch the special episode featuring late-night gabber Jay Leno as the voice of crime fighter The Crimson Chin. Superhero Wish also racked up record ratings among the network’s core demo of kids 2-11, earning a 10.2 rating and averaging 3.2 million viewers, an 11% increase over last year’s hit Jimmy Neutron’s Presidents’ Day Dance Party. Ratings among Kids 6-11 (11.7/2.3 million viewers) and tweens (9.0/1.8 million viewers) also represent series’ highs in those respective demos.

Created by Butch Hartman, The Fairly OddParents follows husband-and-wife sprites Cosmo and Wanda as they inadvertently wreak mayhem in their efforts to help young Timmy conquer typical kid obstacles by granting him wishes.
