According to Daily Variety, the voices behind Foxs The Simpsons are heading back to the audio booth this week after a work stoppage over contract negotiations. The actors, who had been earning $125,000 an episode, were asking for $360,000 for each half-hour installment. While they didnt quite hit that mark, Dan Castellaneta (Homer), Nancy Cartwright (Bart), Julie Kavner (Marge), Yeardley Smith (Lisa) and the rest of the cast struck a new multi-year deal with execs at Twentieth Century Fox Television.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed but it is speculated that the actors will now be making around $250,000 per episode. However, they were reportedly denied a stake in the show’s profits.
The work stoppage threatened to truncate the 2004-2005 season but producers are confident that they can now make a full 22-episode delivery.
