The wealth was spread evenly among various TV and cable networks as this year’s Creative Arts Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out on Saturday. The ceremony, which took place simultaneously at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in New York City and at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles, honored programs broadcast nationally between 2 a.m. and 6 p.m. on American TV and cable.
Nick Jr.’s Little Bill was the winner in the Outstanding Childrens Animated Program category, while PBS heavyweight Sesame Street was awarded the Outstanding Pre-School Childrens Series Emmy as well as five other trophies for costume design, directing, multiple-camera editing, lighting direction and sound mixing (live-action and animation).
In other categories: Composer Richard Wolfs score for Kids WB! toon Static Shock won the Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Drama Series, and Joe Alaskey took home the Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program honor for his work on Cartoon Networks Duck Dodgers. Cartoon Networks He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was the winner in the Sound Editing, Live Action and Animation category, and PBS Between the Lions won the Outstanding Writing in a Childrens Series trophy. NBC/Discovery Kids freshman series Tutenstein picked up the award in the Outstanding Special Class Animated program.
