Hellouin To Form New Studio

Guillaume Hellouin, co-Founder of Paris-based Sparx*, has announced his departure from the large CG house. After majority shareholder Humanoids Group, represented by Fabrice Giger, took control of the company, Hellouin left to create greener animated pastures.

Hellouin established Sparx* in 1995 with Jean-Christophe Bernard and seven other partners. Together they grew the studio to more than 250 employees capable of producing 1/2 hour of CG programming a week. The company is known for its high-quality work in commercials, for service production on shows like Nelvana’s Rolie Polie Olie and for original content such as the new series, Zoe Kezako.

Animation Magazine contacted Hellouin via e-mail and learned that although he is not ready to make an announcement, he is forming a new company dedicated to the same ideals that drove him to form the successful Sparx.* For the interim, Hellouin can be reached at guillaumehellouin@hotmail.com.
