Santa Monica, Calif.-based video game giant Activision has signed on to distribute two new titles developed by Scholastic Media for the Nintendo DS handheld gaming system. I SPY Fun House is available at retail now and Animal Genius will follow in September. Both titles carry a suggested retail price of $29.99 and have been rated “E” for Everyone.
“We are pleased to have Activision represent and distribute Scholastic’s video games at retail,” comments Alan Waldman, senior VP and general manager of Scholastic’s Interactive Products Group. “As one of the top video game publishers in the industry, Activision is in a great position to introduce I SPY Fun House and Animal Genius to the world of handheld gamers on the Nintendo DS platform.”
Scholastic Media is a producer of family-oriented content including feature films, television programming, home video releases, interactive titles and audio products. Among its most popular productions are the PBS KIDS animated series Clifford The Big Red Dog, the Emmy award-winning spin-off Clifford’s Puppy Days, HBO Family’s I SPY, TLC’s The Magic School Bus (TLC) and PBS KIDS GO’s Goosebumps, Animorphs and Maya & Miguel. Feature films include Clifford’s Really Big Movie, The Indian in the Cupboard, The Babysitters Club Movie and the upcoming New Line Cinema fantasy The Golden Compass, based on Philip Pullman’s trilogy His Dark Materials.
