There’s yet more Avatar: The Last Airbender in this week’s slate of home video releases, which also includes two very different incarnations of the classic Looney Toon characters and a younger version of everyone’s favorite animated Great Dane. Avatar Book 2 Earth, Vol. 4 is joined on shelves by a fourth volume of Baby Looney Tunes, the complete second season of Loonatics Unleashed and a seventh collection of episodes of A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.
Avatar Book 2 Earth, Vol. 4 offers up another four episodes of the hugely successful Nickelodeon series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Kunietzko. The show blends an anime style with an even dose of humor in telling the story of Aang, a reluctant and irresponsible boy who must face his destiny as the Avatar, the Chosen One who can restore the world order. Fans can pick up the latest release disc today for $16.99 or wait until the entire second season set is released on Sept. 11.
Bugs, Daffy and the rest of the gang revert to wearing diapers in Warner Bros. Animation’s Baby Looney Tunes Vol. 4. In the headlining episode, ‘Tooth Fairy Tales,’ Bugs looses a tooth and Daffy tries to figure out a way to scam the tooth fairy. Other featured episodes include ‘Takers Keepers,’ ‘Spinout,’ and ‘Shadow of a Doubt.’ The disc includes four other installments, along with four separate sing-along songs. The DVD carries a suggested retail price of $14.98.
Having been babified, the Looney Tunes critters become futuristic, super-powered teenagers in Loonatics Unleashed. The complete second season set offers two discs containing 13 adventures of Ace Bunny, Lexi Bunny, Tech E. Coyote, Danger Duck, Slam Tasmanian and Rev Runner, distant descendents of the classic Looney Tunes characters. The release can be had for the list price of $19.98
The seventh and final volume of A Pup Named Scooby-Doo includes five episodes of the show that turned the Mistery Inc. teens into children in an effort to attract a younger audience. Installments include ‘The Mayhem of the Moving Mollusk,’ ‘The Were-Doo of Doo Manor,’ ‘Catcher on the Sly,’ ‘The Ghost of Mrs. Shusham,’ and ‘The Wrath of Wait-Ro.’ The disc lists for $14.98.
