Dog & Bone Wags Tales on Trains

Laboratoon, a division of Seinbranding devoted to the creation of animated content, informed us that its first series, Dog & Bone, is currently keeping train passengers in stitches in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The company even sent us one of the funny, madcap shorts, which you can watch on AniMagTV (www.animag.tv).

Dog & Bone centers on an excitable dog and his quest to obtain a bone that happens to belong to another dog. The shorts harken back to the cartoon capers of yesteryears, both in graphic style and the way their zany, slapstick scenarios play out sans dialogue. The series could end up being an international hit, but right now it’s featured on Canal Digital, a TV network serving the trains that travel from Retiro to Tigre in Buenos Aires. According to Laboratoon, the channel is viewed by more than 3,800,000 passengers each month.

The Dog & Bone shorts are between one and two minutes long. The first episodes began running in early July and Laboratoon says it is producing another 50 installments.

Other projects in the works at the studio include Rainbow Gardeners, a fantasy series for kids five and up; Chan-Chan, in which a Japanese delivery boy takes up the Tango to woo a high-society lady; Ed Round, a sci-fi/adventure series involving tiny, wheeled creatures living on a little planet hidden behind the moon; and Stop Walk, an experimental animated series revolving around the ongoing battle between traffic signals that want to hold up pedestrians and those that wish to let them carry on. More information on these properties can be found at www.laboratoon.com.
