Anime Net Widens on U.K.’s Propeller TV

Following a successful 13-week initial run, the two-hour Anime Network block on Propeller TV in the U.K. will expand to air nightly on SKY Channel 195 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., with brand new content shown on weekends. The decision was made in response to positive viewer feedback on the block, which launched in early June.

‘Since Anime Network launched in the U.S. nearly five years ago, we have been overwhelmed by the sheer passion of the channel’s loyal fan base,’ says John Ledford, founder, chairman and CEO of A.D.Vision, Anime Network’s parent company. ‘To see this same energy coming out of the U.K. is extremely gratifying, and we look forward to continuing with Propeller TV to serve these viewers.’

Presented by ‘sci-fi guy extraordinaire’ Stuart Claw (T4) and manga maven Emma Vieceli of Sweatdrop UK Manga Studios, Propeller TV’s Anime Network block offers comedy, action, adventure, science-fiction and horror. The weeknight lineup includes Coyote Ragtime Show, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Guyver: The Bio-Boosted Armour and Elfen Lied. New themed programming blocks on weekends will also feature the series Azumanga Daioh, Paniponi Dash, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, Kurau Phantom Memory, Jinki: Extend and Innocent Venus.
