Last seen torturing Adam Sandler with her curves in I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry, actress Jessica Biel is in negotiations to play Wonder Woman in Warner Bros.’ Justice League of America, according to Daily Variety. The studio confirmed last week that Happy Feet helmer George Miller will be directing the superhero tour de force, which will also feature DC Comics staples Batman, Superman, The Flash and Aquaman. Kieran and Michele Mulroney are writing the screenplay.
Warner Bros. is holding off on making any official announcements until all principal roles are cast, but Christian Bale and Brandon Routh are not expected to appear as Batman and Superman, respectively. Tom Welling, who plays a young Clark Kent in The CW’s popular series Smallville, is rumored to be up for the role of the Man of Steel. An even greater piece of stunt casting would put Adrien Grenier in scaly orange tights since his character on HBO’s Entourage played Aquaman in a fictional feature directed by James Cameron.
Biel first appeared in director Victor Nunez’s acclaimed 1997 feature Ulee’s Gold and has since starred in such films as Cellular, Blade: Trinity, Stealth and The Illusionist. She also lent her voice to a 2005 episode of the FOX primetime toon Family Guy, and is currently shooting an independent film titled Powder Blue with Forest Whitaker before moving on to an adaptation of the Oscar Wilde play A Woman of No Importance.
