L.A.-based Porchlight Entertainment has tapped Brenda Bisner as its new VP of children’s programming acquisitions. In this newly created position, Bisner will oversee acquisition of children’s animated and live action programming worldwide for PorchLight’s international distribution division as well as the newly formed home entertainment and digital media arenas.
As William Baumann, PorchLight’s COO, points out, ‘With the continued growth of our international program distribution division, our recent expansion into the domestic home entertainment business and our planned development of children’s platforms on the Internet, we can now offer content owners expanded opportunities for the distribution of their programming. Under Brenda’s direction, our goal is to acquire the best available children’s programming worldwide for these distribution platforms.’
Bisner joined PorchLight earlier this year as director of acquisitions, digital media at Porchlight and helped launch the family-safe website kidvideos.com. Before joining Porchlight, she was GRB Entertainment’s director of acquisitions and also worked for Tom Lynch Co. in development and production.
