The official Star Wars blog (http://starwarsblog.wordpress.com) has posted a first look at what is sure to be plastered on college dorm room walls for years to come’the poster for the upcoming Star Wars episode of FOX’s animated series Family Guy. The hour-long special, dubbed ‘Blue Harvest,’ will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 23.
‘Blue Harvest’ is a reference to the working title George Lucas and crew used to keep over-zealous fans from crashing the set of 1983’s Return of the Jedi. The highly anticipated Family Guy installment will cast the show’s various characters in iconic Star Wars roles for an intergalactic romp from the minds of series creator Seth McFarlane and his writing staff.
Back in June, the animated Adult Swim show Robot Chicken debuted a Star Wars parody episode produced with the cooperation of Lucas himself. The half-hour stop-motion special was directed by series co-creator Seth Green, a self-proclaimed Star Wars fanatic who also provides the voice of the dim-witted Chris Griffin on Family Guy.
