Happy Monster Band Rocks Disney Channel

Disney Channel will premiere an original short-form animated series titled Happy Monster Band on Monday, Oct. 1 at approximately 8:25 a.m. (ET/PT) during the Playhouse Disney preschool programming block. The quartet of lovable little monsters with dreams of pop music stardom will perform their greatest hits weekdays throughout the month of October and viewers will be encouraged to go to vote for their favorites online.

The Happy Monster Band characters were created by Don Carter. The series is a production of Kickstart, in association with Disney Channel, and is exec produced by Loris Kramer Lunsford (Johnny Test) and Jason Netter (Wolverine, X-Men). Each of the 10 music-filled vignettes will be four minutes in length and will showcase a different song from the band. Starting on Oct. 12, preschoolers and their caregivers will be able to log onto PlayhouseDisney.com to cast their votes. The top five songs will then be featured in a special on-air countdown on Halloween day.

Playhouse Disney is seen daily on Disney Channel in the U.S. and on eight Playhouse Disney channels around the world. The programming block supports multiple areas of child development, including physical, emotional, social and cognitive skills, as well as moral and ethical development.
