Kabillion, the new multi-platform kids’ program service from Taffy Ent., has added EM.TV’s new animated series Staines Down Drains to its offerings. Taffy also announced that the video-on-demand channel and ad-supported broadband site has finished its biggest month to date and has been picked up by cable carrier Bresnan Communications. Bresnan will carry Kabillion throughout Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming, joining the nationwide reach of Comcast Cable systems.
Staines Down Drains is stylized 2D comedy-adventure that chronicles the lives of twin youngsters John Stanley Staines and Mary Jane Staines, who have the ability to travel down the drain and into the sewer system below their town. There they discover a wonderful and sometimes dangerous underground world.
Kabillion is part of The MoonScoop Group and is owned in part by Taffy Ent., East Coast-based REMIX Entertainment Ventures and Germany’s EM.TV. Found on the web at www.Kabillion.com, the service owes much of its recent success to the August launch of a new preschool-focused programming block dubbed Kabillion Jr., as well as the increasing popularity of the new animated series I Got A Rocket! and Mix Master. Among other hit programs is Bobby’s World, Howie Mandel’s Emmy-winning ’90s animated series, which has been revived by the comedian’s success on the primetime game show Deal or No Deal.
Kabillion’s online platform will also introduce users to three new original video games based on the network’s top rated series. Playworld Invasion finds Gumpers and Dinko, two of the extra-terrestrials from Pet Alien, wreaking havoc in an amusement park go-cart, while Big Fish takes the title character from Bobby’s World on an underwater adventure where he dreams that he’s a large fish in the ocean. Based on I Got A Rocket!, Rocket Lander asks players to help navigate Rocket back to Vinnie’s house and avoid the evil Ducky kids before running out of fuel.
