300, Ratatouille Slay at Hollywood Fest

Director Zach Snyder’s 300 was voted Movie of the Year at the 11th Annual Hollywood Film Festival’s Hollywood Awards ceremony. The vfx-laden hit film based on the Frank Miller graphic novel beat out a number of summer blockbusters for the honor, while Disney/Pixar’s Ratatouille snagged the special honor for animation.

Presented by STARZ, the Hollywood Movie of the Year Award was determined by public online voting at the Yahoo! Movies website. Universal’s 300 beat out fellow summer favorites The Bourne Ultimatum, Hairspray, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Ocean’s Thirteen, Ratatouille, Shrek the Third, The Simpsons Movie, Spider-Man 3 and Transformers. 300 was also seen Tuesday night receiving major awards during the telecast of Spike TV’s 2007 Scream Awards.

Honoring independent filmmakers and established Hollywood professionals, the Hollywood kudo fest was held Monday night before a standing-room-only audience of more than 1,200 Hollywood Film Festival attendees at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
