THQ Inc. has announced the release of the Ratatouille video game for Sony’s PlayStation 3. Inspired by the hit animated feature, the game is the company’s first PS3 title created under its licensing deal for Disney/Pixar franchises. The title joins previous Ratatouille releases for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, DS, Windows PC and Mac, and wireless devices.
In Ratatouille, players assume the role of Remy, a young rat whose love for great food and cooking puts him at odds with the needs of his family. The game offers five different environments and more than 20 challenging missions and mini-games, as well as multiplayer action. The title also supports the SIXAXIS Wireless Controller, which employs motion-sensing technology to detect natural and intuitive movements.
Later this month, THQ plans to release Ratatouille Food Frenzy for the Nintendo DS. The title will give fans an all-new storyline that takes full advantage of the DS’s capabilities. Players will use the touch screen to cook food, stir pans and fry vegetables while enjoying seven new cooking, puzzle and action games spanning more than 100 different levels. Cooling off meals hot off the stove will involve blowing into the DS microphone as gamers help out with the grand opening of Remy and Emile’s new restaurant, La Ratatouille.
THQ’s Heavy Iron Studios leads development for Ratatouille across THQ’s Studio System with support from Helixe, developer Ratatouille Food Frenzy for Nintendo DS. For more information on the various Ratatouille interactive releases, go to www.ratatouillevideogame.com.
