Allumination Filmworks has signed a U.S. home entertainment distribution deal for DECODE Ent.’s hit animated preschool property Franny’s Feet. The pact is one of several new licensing partnerships for the property, including a home entertainment agreement with Mediaway in Poland. To date, DECODE has concluded more than 80 television broadcast and video agreements for the program, covering more than 150 countries.
Franny’s Feet follows the adventures of a little girl with magical shoes that take her around the world to learn how people live and work. For instance, a pair of sandals allow her to meet an Egyptian Princess, and hiking boots transport her her to the mountains of Tibet, where she learns about Yak herding. The show is commissioned by Five in the U.K. and airs during the broadcaster’s Milkshake block. It is also seen on PBS in the U.S., Canada’s Family Channel, ABC Australia, France 5, Disney Channel Germany, Italy’s Rai, TV2 Denmark, TV12 Singapore and Cartoon Network in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
DECODE has signed up a number of international licensing sub-agents through its representative, The Sharpe Co. Following the recent appointment of Rocket Licensing in the U.K., CPLG (Copyright Promotions) in France and Italy, Scandinavia’s Alicom Licensing, IMC (International Merchandising Consultants) in Argentina and Korea’s Asiana Licensing have come on board to extend the brand’s reach in key markets.
Hasbro’s PLAYSKOOL division has the worldwide master toy and game license for Franny’s Feet and palns to launch a line of toys and games in 2008. In addition, Penguin Group and Simon & Schuster have come on board as publishing partners for the U.S. and North America. All licensing deals were brokered by The Sharpe Co., on behalf of DECODE.
