All of the holiday episodes of Comedy Central’s South Park have been packaged together in one DVD that hits retail today, along with a new, hour-long installment of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants. Adults with a twisted sense of humor can pick up Christmas Time in South Park while Atlantis SquarePantis makes its way to kiddie collections.
Comedy Central Home Entertainment’s Christmas Time in South Park is a collection of seven of the animated series’ winter holiday-themed episodes, going all the way back to 1997 with ‘Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo.’ Fans of the irreverent animated show can revisit some of their favorite moments as Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny travel with Santa Claus to Iraq, have Christmas dinner with a notorious serial killer and help build a manger for adorable forest animals that turn out to be devil worshipers. Installments included on the DVD are ‘Merry Christmas, Charlie Manson,’ ‘Mr. Hankey’s Christmas Classics,’ ‘A Very Crappy Christmas,’ ‘Red Sleigh Down,’ ‘It’s Christmas in Canada’ and ‘Woodland Critter Christmas.’ The disc lists for $29.99.
Atlantis SquarePantis had its television premiere on Monday and is priced to own. The special features the voice of rock legend David Bowie as Lord Royal Highness, whom SpongeBob and pals Patrick, Sandy, Squidward and Mr. Krabs meet when they are whisked away in a van to the lost city of Atlantis. The DVD also features the making-of documentary Behind the Pantis’How We Made Atlantis SquarePantis, other behind-the-scenes features and exclusive footage of Patchy the Pirate, portrayed by SpongeBob voicer Tom Kenny. The DVD carries a suggested retail price of $16.99.
