Bruckheimer Making Games with MTV

Having brought to the screen such high-octane blockbusters as Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Jerry Bruckheimer is making a logical leap into the interactive realm. The super producer has entered into a multi-year partnership with MTV Games to create video games based on original ideas.

‘It’s time to set our creative energies into other areas I haven’t been in before, so it’s a perfect time for me,’ Bruckheimer told MTV News. Working with MTV, he will enlist top game developers to help tell unique, playable stories in the typical Bruckheimer style.

MTV, which recently acquired Guitar Hero developer Harmonix and published the new music title Rock Band, is working to establish itself as a major player in the interactive software arena. The Bruckheimer partnership may involve projects that extend to mobile platforms, television and virtual worlds.
