Disney Channel has dubbed second month of the new year ‘Ferbruary’ in honor of the premiere of its new animated series, Phineas and Ferb. Created and exec produced by Dan Povenmire (Family Guy) and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh (The Simpsons), the production of Walt Disney Television Animation enjoyed a ratings-grabbing sneak preview over the summer and will have its official premiere on Saturday, Feb. 1.
The traditional 2D, musical show revolves around Phineas Flynn and his stepbrother, Ferb Fletcher. who set out with their pet platypus in tow to conquer boredom and make every day of their 104-day summer holiday count. While they’re out having reckless fun, older sister Candace does her best to them busted.
The voice cast includes Thomas Sangster (Nanny McPhee) as Ferb, Vincent Martella (Everybody Hates Chris) as Phineas, Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical) as Candace, Caroline Rhea (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch) as mother Linda, Richard O’Brien (creator of The Rocky Horror Picture Show) as dad Lawrence, and Dee Bradley Baker (American Dad!) as Perry the Platypus.
Following the Feb. 1 premiere, Disney Channel viewers can catch Phineas and Ferb on weekends at 8:30 a.m. and weekdays at 4 p.m.
