Educational products company Alchemy Creative Inc. has begun production on its first animated series, Adventures of the Elements. Based on a series of books and a card game used to teach science in classrooms across the country, the series is being produced by CG animation and vfx house CAT Studios. The property will consist of 13 episodes and an hour-long movie slated for release on home video this summer. The series will also be available through theaters and schools.
Featuring a combination of motion-capture and key-frame animation, Adventures of the Elements will center on five siblings who find special glasses that allow them to see element and molecule/compound characters battling in the real world. CAT will also produce an instructional video for use with the Adventures of the Elements card game.
CAT Studios previously produced Night of the Headless Horseman, a CG-animated television movie for 20th Century Fox. Other credits includes the fully-animated music video for Master P’s hit song ‘Souljas,’ and effects for the CBS telepic Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial By Fire.
