Ratatouille Cooks with Golden Tomatoes

Disney/Pixar’s Ratatouille bested all other wide-release films in this year’s Golden Tomato Awards at Rotten Tomatoes (www.rottentomatoes.com), Fox Interactive Media’s website devoted to compiling critical response to movies. The CG family emerged as the year’s best-reviewed title, scoring higher marks with critics than even the Coen Brothers’ No Country for Old Men.

Ratatouille is also the big cheese in the Animation category. Coming in at No. 2 is 20 Century Fox’s The Simpsons Movie, followed by Sony Pictures Classics’ Persepolis and Paprika, and finally Sony Animation’s Surf’s Up. Meanwhile, Disney’s partially animated Enchanted came out on top in the Kids/Family category.

Other noteable wins include Warner Bros. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix taking the tomato for best-reviewed sci-fi/fantasy flick, and The Weinstein Co./Dimension Films’ Grindhouse winning in the horror category. To see the complete list of winners for 2007, go to www.rottentomatoes.com.
