Lliviria Expands Role At BRB

BRB Internacional directing manager Carlos Biern Lliviria has broadened the scope of his responsibilities to include international licensing. He will be responsible for sales, co-productions and new technologies as he oversees the licensing agreements managed by BRB worldwide, except in Spain and Portugal.

Lliviria, 35, graduated from Suffolk University in Boston with a degree in entrepreneurial sciences, then earned a masters in corporate audiovisual management from Carlos III University in Spain. He began his career in television at Gestevisi’n Telecinco, serving as assistant director of external productions purchasing. He soon made the leap to BRB, working in scripts and executive production before moving into sales, co-productions and development of new technologies.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, BRB Internacional is involved in the production, distribution and licensing of television programs, including a number of hit animated children’s series. In addition to classic characters such as David the Gnome, Dogtanian and Willy Fog, the company is behind Bernard, which was named best new TV licensing property at MIPCOM Jr in 2004; Iron Kid, which airs as Eon Kid on Kids WB!; Khuda-Yana, co-production with ABC/Jetix USA and Jetix Europe that is in development; The Imp, winner of the MIPCOM Jr Licensing Challenge 2006; and Angus&Cheryl, a show picked up by France 3 and Nickelodeon International, among others. In the area of licensing, the company’s activities include handling rights to the Cartoon Network properties The Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and Ben 10 for Spain and Portugal.
