John Hardman, former senior VP of programming for Kids’ WB!, has joined the team at Radar Cartoons, LLC., an exec producing house and consultancy firm headed by president Rita Street, former editor of Animation Magazine. Formed in 2004, Radar packages show concepts for sale to networks and co-producers, and serves as a consultancy firm to animation studios, games companies and think tanks.
Hardman has also served as director of programming and development for Dreamworks SKG Television Animation Division and director of creative affairs for Klasky Csupo Inc. As a producer’s representative, he will assist Radar’s global clientele in the development of series and film concepts. He will also aid in international sales, attending major markets on behalf of the company.
‘We were so fortunate when Kourtney Kaye, former head of creative affairs and development for TV Loonland, came on board as Radar’s managing director in 2006,’ says Rita Street. ‘With John joining us in 2008, we have the skill set of the majors’tons of experience in development and a well-rounded network perspective. Our clients will certainly benefit from this braintrust.’
Radar also announces the promotion of Hadley Hudson from development associate to director of development. The company’s execs currently work on productions such as Ruby Gloom for Nelvana and YTV, Frankenstein’s Cat for BBC & France 3 and Hero: 108 for Cartoon Network Europe, Mike Young Prods. and Gamania Digital Entertainment.
