Cartoon Network and a certain swinging jungle man are watching out for trees this Arbor Day with a George of the Jungle marathon. A total of 12 episodes of the new series will begin airing at 12 p.m. (ET/PT) on Sunday, April 20.
A re-imagining of the classic 1967 Jay Ward cartoon show, the all-new George of the Jungle features a younger George, who is back to protect the jungle of Mbebwe with a little help from best buddy Ape, friends Ursula and Magnolia, his faithful elephant Shep and the Tookie-Tookie bird.
The marathon will kick of with the episode ‘Cone Head,’ in which George plucks the wrong plant and gets ‘the itch of a thousand scratches,’ then has to wear a cone on his head so he won’t scratch his face. The other selected installments are: ‘Mantler, The Man with Antlers,’ ‘License to Swing,’ ‘Extreme Lamebrains,’ ‘The VegeMaster,’ ‘Beetle Invasion,’ ‘Aromageddon,’ ‘The Snoring,’ ‘Lucky Pants,’ ‘Don’t Thank Me,’ ‘Bathroom of the Apes’ and ‘Star Power.’
George of the Jungle is co-produced by Bullwinkle Studios and Studio B Prods., a subsidiary of DHX Media Ltd. Bullwinkle Studios is a joint venture between Classic Media (an Entertainment Rights group company) and Jay Ward Prods. Inc., producers of Rocky & Bullwinkle, George of the Jungle, Tom Slick, Superchicken and other classic toons.
