Kabillion Swings with Spider-Man

Multiplatform kids’ entertainment service Kabillion has added Spider-Man, The New Animated Series as its first new series launch of 2008. Sony Ent.’s CG-animated action show starring Neil Patrick Harris (Justice League: The New Frontier, How I Met Your Mother) as the voice of Peter Parker/Spider-Man will debut on May 1 on both Kabillion On-Demand (on Comcast and Bresnan Cable systems nationwide) and Kabillion’s broadband site, www.Kabillion.com.

‘We are continuing to bring great new programming and content to our ever-growing audience,’ comments Bill Schultz, CEO of Kabillion. ‘We will also create a host of other multiplatform opportunities around this exciting show, giving both the fans and the marketing partners who want to reach them a place to congregate. In addition, we will also be helping to promote the all-new Spider-Man series [The Spectacular Spider-Man] on the CW network’s Kids’ WB! broadcast platform.’

Mainframe Ent. animated 13 episodes of Spider-Man, The New Animated Series, which originally aired on MTV in 2003. The show focuses on college student Peter Parker as he struggles to balance his superhero responsibilities with his personal life, including girlfriend Mary Jane (Lisa Loeb). Keith Carradine (Deadwood) lends his voice to the role of Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson, who is convinced Spider-Man is a criminal that must be brought to justice, and Ian Ziering (Beverly Hills 90210) plays Peter’s best friend and secret nemesis, Harry Osborn.

Part of The MoonScoop Group, Kabillion is owned in part by Taffy Ent., East Coast-based REMIX Entertainment Ventures and Germany’s EM.TV. The service offers free animated and live-action kids’ entertainment on both the VOD and online broadband platforms.
