Monster Distributes has informed us that it has closed a number of pre-MIPTV sales for Gazoon, a new, dialogue-free animated series from French-based Sparkling in co-production with TF1 France. Production recently wrapped on the initial set of 30 three-and-a-half-minute episodes, which have been picked up by RAI in Italy, TV2 in Denmark, YLE in Finland, NRK in Norway, Al Jazeera in the Middle East, Cartoon Network in Japan and Samanyolu TV and Mehtap TV in Turkey, as well as Saudi Arabian airlines.
Tailor-made for kids 4-10, Gazoon revolves around a group of wild animals ilving in the African savanna. According to Monster, the show offers wacky cartoon humor with a tender and surreal touch. Watch an episode below.
At next week’s MIPTV confab in Cannes, France, Monster is expecting to close more deals for Gazoon and its other African animals franchise, Jungle Beat. Production on a second season of Jungle Beat is underway and has been pre-sold to a number of broadcasters including Animania HD in the U.S., NRK in Norway and DR in Denmark.
