Spider-Man Gets More Airtime

Kids’ WB! on The CW is taking steps to meet fan demand for more of the popular new animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man. The block will offer a full hour of the show each Saturday morning starting April 12. The web-slinging fun will be multiplied with back-to-back episodes airing at 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. (ET/PT).

Produced by Sony Pictures Television’s Culver Ent., The Spectacular Spider-Man picks up Marvel Comics’ Spidey mythology at the beginning of his hero’s journey and finds a 16-year-old Peter Parker struggling with the pressures of teenage life while learning to handle his new-found powers and the various super-villains that threaten the city. The show debuted on March 8 and has ranked among the top-rated broadcast network kids series for the past several weeks, leading the Kids’ WB! line-up by scoring top marks in all the key demographics.

In this Saturday’s all-new episode, ‘The Invisible Hand,’ Peter Parker struggles to get a date and scratch up enough cash for the Fall formal. Meanwhile, the unstoppable Rhino, the latest of the Big Man’s creations, has sworn vengeance on Spider-Man. Spidey takes the battle directly to the source of his troubles, but the Big Man offers a surprising solution to Spidey’s problems, a tempting offer he doesn’t think our hero can afford to refuse.
