NatGeo Kids Embarks on Big Screen Safari

National Geographic Kids Entertainment (NGKE) has teamed with Kidtoons, a division of The Bigger Picture, an AccessIT company, to launch National Geographic Kids’ Big Screen Safari. The nationwide, in-theater program will bring more than 70 minutes of NGKE’s animated and live-action programming to the big screen for matinee viewings over four consecutive weekends in June.

Rolling out in more than 100 theaters across the country, Big Screen Safari will include installments of the animated comedy series Iggy Arbuckle and Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies, which blends animation with live-action wildlife footage. Also on the bill is Are We There Yet? World Adventure, a kids’ global adventure series hosted by real sibling duos.

The program marks the first time Kidtoons has devoted an entire month to one program supplier’s content. In another first, multi-platform marketing opportunities that include in-theater, online, print, event and radio extensions are being offered to potential sponsors.

‘The National Geographic Kids’ Big Screen Safari theater experience is a great way for parents and young children to collectively enjoy our programming on the big screen,’ says Donna Friedman Meir, president of NGKE. ‘We look forward to expanding our relationship with Kidtoons and exploring additional opportunities with them in the months to come.’

Recent Kidtoons movie events include daytime screenings of Care Bears: Grizzle-ly Adventures, Arthur’s Missing Pal, Eloise Goes to Hollywood and Strawberry Shortcake in Sweet Dreams.
