Fly Me Producer Flies with Dragon

Charlotte Huggins, producer of nWave’s upcoming CG-animated stereoscopic 3-D feature film Fly Me To the Moon, is trading in insects for mythical creatures for her next project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she is working with Hollywood-based studio Super 78 to produce Flight of the Dragon, a live-action, special venue 3-D movie to feature CG animation. Written and directed by Super 78’s Brent Young, the semi-educational film is being rendered in 4K resolution for presentation in IMAX theaters and other large-format venues.

Flight of the Dragon will center on a young boy who discovers China by air while riding a flying dragon. Filming is set to commence in September in mainland China using the Red One digital camera. Deveolped and exec produced by Super 78’s Dina Benadon, the pic is bing co-produced by two unnamed Chinese entities.

Huggins is also a producer on the 3-D movie Journey to the Center of the Earth, which hits theaters nationwide this Friday. In October, Super 78 will go into production on another special venue film titled Wings Over America.
