Mayajaal Ent. Ltd has completed a 2D Flash-animated movie dubbed Jai Vigneshwar, which will be released on 30 digital screens across India on Thursday, Oct. 9. The production involved more than 150 animators and technicians, and was completed within six months. The film is being released in English and will later be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. It will also be released in various foreign markets on Thanksgiving.
The story delves into the world of Lord Ganesha, exploring his well-known and unknown tales. Every incident revolves around the havoc caused by boons granted by Lord Shiva, but Ganesha is always able to sweetly diffuse the situation with wit and wisdom.
‘This film will create a new theme of films in the same way Amar Chitra Katha did to comics,’ says Mayajaal CEO Udeep B. ‘Being an exclusive digital platform theatrical release, the audio-video quality of the film will be good.’
Mayajaal plans to produce a minimum of two live-action films and two animated features a year. The company also aims to add another five screens to its 10-screen Chennai Centre theater, and plans to expand to other locations including Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, Trichy and Pondichery.
