Ireland, U.K. Premiere Special Simpsons Seg

A special Irish-themed episode of The Simpsons had its worldwide premiere on St. Patrick’s Day in the United Kingdom and Ireland’the first time an episode of the show has first aired in any country besides the United States.

According to Variety, exec producers James L. Brooks, Al Jean and voice actress Nancy Cartwright appeared in Dublin to celebrate the occasion, part of a year-long 20th anniversary celebration for the show. Additionally, people dressed as Marge Simpson will appear at bars in major U.S. cities to pass out codes for free Simpsons ringtones and cellphone wallpaper.

The episode, titled ‘In the Name of the Grandfather,’ is scheduled to air Sunday in the United States.
