FX Picks Up DreamWorks Toons

Cable channel FX Network has acquired the TV rights to nine DreamWorks Animation feature films, including the current hit Monsters vs. Aliens.

The four-year pact includes all DreamWorks films released from 2008 through 2012, which will include the upcoming Shrek Goes Fourth and the sequel to Kung Fu Panda, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sources told the trade paper the terms of the deal were similar to others FX has cut recently, such as a $110 million, five-picture deal with Marvel Studios and a $100 million, 15-movie deal with NBC Universal.
