It’s a big week for animation fans at the DVD store, with Warner Bros. continuing a pair of popular release series with Freakazoid, Season 2 ($26.99) and Tiny Toon Adventures: Season 1, Volume 2 ($44.98) and Lionsgate debuting its recent hit Wolverine and the X-Men ($14.98 ‘ see separate story).
It’s also a good time to catch up with some of this year’s big Oscar contenders with Best Picture nominee Frost/Nixon (Universal, $29.98 DVD, $39.98 Blu-ray) due out, as well as The Wrestler (Fox Searchlight, $29.98 DVD, $39.99 Blu-ray), which featured a nominated comeback performance from Mickey Rourke.
Meanwhile, fans still mourning the end of Battlestar Galactica can get started on Caprica (Universal, $26.98), the movie debut of the prequel series due to start airing on SyFy next year.
