Rumors are swirling that both Monsters, Inc. and Futurama may be coming back for more.
Collider.com is reporting that Comedy Central has ordered 13 new episodes of Futurama, the sci-fi comedy series created by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen.
Last seen in the recent DVD release Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder, production offices have opened and casting is about to begin, the site reports.
Official word on exactly when the series, which began its run 10 years ago, could come as soon as next month’s Comic-Con in San Diego.
Murkier but just as interesting is a report on Jim Hill Media from the Licensing Expo that Pixar and Up director Pete Docter are working on sequel to Monsters, Inc.
Details were sketchy, but the move would seem in line with Pixar’s recent dip into the sequel business with Toy Story 3 and Cars 2 also in the works.
