Feature Set for Seuss’ The Lorax

Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have set directors and writers to work on a 3-D CG-animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.

Set for release in March 2, 2012, Chris Renaud, Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio will direct the film, with Paul and Daurio writing the script, reports Variety.

Paul and Daurio also wrote Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who! for Fox/Blue Sky Studios.

The film tells the tale of a greedy entrepreneur who wipes out a forest of trees despite please from the Lorax people.

Chris Meledandri, head of Illumination, will produce with Audrey Geisel serving as executive producer. Meledandri put together Horton while head of Fox Animation.
