Also doing well was the romantic comedy The Ugly Truth, starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler, earning $27 million in its opening weekend. The horror film Orphan opened in fourth place with $12.7 million.
The previous wave of blockbusters fell back this past weekend, with Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs slipping to fifth place with $8.2 million and a total of $171 million.
