Coraline, Mary and Max and $9.99 are among the official selections for feature films that will play Oct. 14-18 at the Ottawa International Animation Festival.
The festival, which chose 98 films representing 20 countries from a record 2,185 entries, also will screen such popular shorts as Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death, Pixar’s Partly Cloudy, Cordell Barker’s Runaway and David O’Reilly’s animated music video for the song I’ll Go Crazy if I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight, from the new U2 album No Line on the Horizon.
The festival also will show 58 additional films in out-of-competition showcase screenings.
Also screening in the feature film category are Life Without Gabriella Ferri, My Dog Tulip, Edison & Leo and Mai Mai Miracle.
‘One of the categories I’m really excited about is the animated feature category,’ says artistic director Chris Robinson. ‘This is, by far, the strongest feature competition we’ve had to date. Normally we take a maximum of five films to compete in this category but this year it was too difficult to narrow it down, so we increased the competition to seven films.’
