Gormiti Sells to U.S., Europe and Middle East

Broadcasters in the United States, Europe and the Middle East have bought the rights to Zodiak Entertainment’s animated children’s series Gormiti: The Lords of Nature.

In the United States, the series will debut in October on Cartoon Network.

Gormiti starts airing in September on M6 and Canal J in France, RTL 2 in Germany, RTVE and Cartoon Network in Spain and Nickelodeon in the United Kingdom.

The show also is set to debut on the Alter Channel in Greece, Digi Turk in Turkey, Noga in Israel, MBC in the Middle East, TV3 in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, Nova TV in Bulgaria and Globo TV in Brazil. Further deals are pending for additional territories in Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Produced by Marathon Media and Giochi Preziosi for Mediaset, M6 and Canal J, Gormiti was adapted from a major Italian property and launched at MIPCOM in 2008. It has been a huge hit in its native Italy, drawing more than 1 million viewers per episode on Mediaset.

‘The series should be on air worldwide in mid-2010, as planned,’ said Vincent Chalvon Demersay, CEO of Marathon Media.
