Basketball star Tony Parker has signed a deal with French company Tele Images Kids to develop an animated series tentatively titled Basketball Adventures.
The series would feature Parker’s image, and tell stories of him leading a teenage team of street basketball players that tours the United States and explores the identity of each city they visit, Variety reports.
The 2D series will be directed by Franck Michel, and will feature an urban, hip-hop style. The series is budgeted at about $8.8 million, with production set to start in January. The show already has been picked up in France by M6.
Parker, who plays for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs and is married to Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker, told the trade he was intrigued by the idea of starring in the first French cartoon about basketball.
