Turner’s Europe Lab Yields First Series

Turner Broadcasting has given its first green light to a project coming out of its European development studio.

The Amazing World of Gumball, a 40 x 11 min. comedy series for kids 6-11, will air globally on Cartoon Network.

The series is the first to come out of the Cartoon Network Development Studio Europe, established in 2007 to bolster locally produced content.

Turner also is backing the establishment of Dandelion Studios in the United Kingdom to produce the series, creating 25 jobs.

The series was created by Ben Bocquelet, who worked as a development artist at the Cartoon Network Development Studio Europe. He is moving on to Dandelion Studios to work on the series, which is expected to take about two years to produce.
