Former Wildbrain co-founder Phil Robinson and producer Amy Capen have opened in San Francisco a new boutique animation studio called Special Agent Productions.
The company recently wrapped for Esurance its most recent animated commercial, a Bollywood-themed spot featuring the pink-haired Erin Esurance.
Special Agent offers streamlined services, including 2D and 3D animation, motion graphics and design for all broadcast media, to meet modern production demands for the digital age.
‘After building and running what became a big company, I missed the creative dynamic that exists in a smaller setting with more freedom to explore ideas ‘ this is what we aim for at Special,’ says Robinson, who had served as a director and creative chief at Wildbrain.
Prior to co-founding Special, Capen headed up production at Wildbrain, where she launched the studio’s online entertainment channel and worked with top clients.
