CBeebies Expands Timmy Time Order

CBeebies has asked for more of Aardman Animations’ preschooler series Timmy Time.

The U.K. channel has ordered 26 new 10-minute episodes on top of the 52 episodes already in production. Work on the new episodes is set to begin next summer.

‘CBeebies viewers have been charmed by Timmy and his friends and we are delighted to be bringing our core audience a whole new series of his fun and antics,’ says

Kay Benbow, CBeebies’ head of production, animation and acquisitions

The series launched in April and has performed well for CBeebies.

Timmy Time also has secured several new licensing deals in the United Kingdom. Signing on to the property are Next, which will make a wide range of apparel; Blues Clothing for outerwear and leisure; Worlds Apart for beds and children’s furniture; and Mookie Toys for playballs.

Other deals include agreements with Golden Bear for wooden toys, Trade Mark Collections for bags and accessories, Egmont for U.K. and Commonwealth publishing rights; and Titan Magazines for a monthly comic book in the U.K. and Ireland.

Timmy Time airs in more than 100 territories worldwide.
