French Studio Plans Krostons Features

A trio of ugly and malicious Belgian comic book creatures is set to star in a CG/live action 3-D hybrid movie called The Krostons in 3-D.

The film is being made by France’s Le Studio d’Imagination, who announced the project at MIPCOM and described it as looking like Who Framed Roger Rabbit with the spirit of Gremlins.

The Krostons were created by Belgian comics artist Deli’ge, and first appeared in the legendary Journal de Spirou in 1967. Deli’ge was a collaborator of Peyo, the cartoonist who created the Smurfs.

Frederik Du Chau, whose credits include Underdog and Racing Stripes, is directing the film.
