Banderas Lines Up Behind Goleor

Spanish animated feature film Goleor, the Scale and the Sword has entered pre-production with actor Antonio Banderas on board to cast and direct the voice actors, as well as provide a voice himself.

The 3D film will be in English and has an estimated budget of $33 million, according to Variety. The story is a light-hearted adventure tale of a young aspiring knight who finds his kingdom increasingly dominated by bureaucrats and attorneys.

Manuel Sicilia is writing the script and will direct the movie, which will be produced by Enrique Posner and Kandor Moon, the studio behind the recent Spanish animated hit The Missing Lynx.

Goleor is set to begin production in January, to be delivered in December 2011.
