Borrowers Adaptation Next for Studio Ghibli

Studio Ghibli will be borrowing the classic book The Borrowers to be the basis for its next feature film.

Hiromasa Yonebayashi will direct Karigurashi no Arrietty (Arrietty Borrows Everything), set for release in summer 2010 in Japan with Toho distributing, Variety reports.

Hayao Miyazaki will supervise the production.

Mary Norton’s book was published in 1952 and tells the tale of tiny people who ‘borrow’ everyday items from full-size humans.
