The rodent adventurers of G-Force invade home video this week, leading an anime-heavy week in the midst of the holiday shopping season.
One of the summer’s sleeper hits, G-Force (Disney, $29.99 DVD, $39.99 deluxe edition DVD, $44.99 Blu-ray-DVD combo pack) proved to be a real crowd-pleaser, especially with the kid crowd, earning more than $283 million worldwide at the box office. The home video release includes plenty of extras, such as a director’s commentary, deleted scenes and music videos. The Blu-ray edition also contains additional features that go behind the animation used in the film.
On the anime front comes the new-to-HD Samurai Champloo: The Complete Series (Geneon Entertainment, $79.98 Blu-ray), as well as Bleach, Vol. 23 (VIZ, $24.92), Honey & Clover: Box Set 2 (VIZ, $59.90) and One Piece: Season 2, Fourth Voyage (FUNimation, $49.98)
Adult Swim fans surely will be lined up for the release of Robot Chicken: Season 4 (Warner Bros., $29.98), also available in the catch-up box set Robot Chicken: Seasons 1-4 (Warner Bros., $120.72).
And Trekkers can finally complete their high-def collections of the classic series that started it all with Star Trek ‘ The Original Series: Season Three (Paramount, $107.99 Blu-ray).
