Animation and cartoon artwork is being auctioned off on eBay as a benefit to pay the medical related to an auto accident that injured Matthew Hodge, the teenage son of former Disney story artist and Big Idea Productions director Tim Hodge.
The accident in August saw a train strike the younger Hodge’s car as he was driving across the tracks. While he broke no bones and injured no internal organs, Hodge suffered a head injury that has left him in a coma that persists to this day.
The Hodge family has limited medical insurance and is facing expensive bills for Matthew’s care.
The animation and cartooning community have responded by donating artwork to be auctioned off to benefit the Hodges. The artwork can be seen online at the blog www.helpthehodges.com and were posted for auction on eBay on Jan. 21.

More items will be put up for auction starting Jan. 31 and Feb. 4. The auctions are sponsored by the National Cartoonists Society Foundation.
